After reading about @fridamom ad being cancelled and reading an article about how moms felt when they saw all these Instagram moms looking perfect after delivering their child and feeling like they were in so much pain they couldn’t even take a photo with their child and had no one on Instagram showing them what postpartum is really like, I had to reshare this post from 3 days postpartum when I had my mesh panties, nursing bra, maxi pad, and tucks on. I even feel like “wow how do these moms look so put together everyday with their perfect everything.” I am so proud of all of you who share the real. We NEED TO SEE IT. We need more conversations about the stitches, the pain, the hemorrhoids, bleeding, emotions, being scared for their first postpartum bm 😂 all of it. We need to be here for each other and let other people know they aren’t alone. Motherhood is amazing, like so amazing, but sometimes it’s freaking hard. On top of dealing with re-learning your new body, learning a new routine and learning who your new baby is all while healing and not caring enough for ourselves we look at all the “perfect” and doubt ourselves. I just want to let you know you aren’t alone. I promise to always share the real. You are amazing. Do you ever feel like no matter what, you’re just not balancing life correctly? Sometimes I get so caught up with the house being in order, home cooked meals, and working that I feel like I’m lacking as a mom. It’s very hard to balance and at the end of the day we need to give ourselves some grace. It’s ok to not do it all. Time is a thief and our babies are only this little once.
